Hi ferns:

I think that the RC you encounter on Kaplan 800 is much harder than what you should expect on the actual GMAT. Focus on practicing more with OG...

With regards to improving reading comprehension. Take some time to explore the resources on the GMAT Resource Wiki as well as the RC posts on the Beat The GMAT Blog. There's a ton of material there to help...

Best of luck!

I'm not familiar with the companion CD--is this one one that also contains the practice tests? The RCs on the practice tests I recall were really hard, so maybe this is another thing?

Or maybe you're just a natural when it comes to RC. :)

Yeah it has these practice tests for individual sections as well as 4 full length tests.

Oh and thanks for the info. :)

I am so glad to have found this. The Kaplan RC passages are L-O-N-G and the questions are designed very well. I feel confused on every one of them. I was practicing with the companion CD that came wtih my Kaplan 2009 GMAT book. Again, I'm happy to know that Kaplan is much tougher than the real thing.
