I left last weekend to prepare my essays, and on saturday morning I had a terrible incident with a crazy violent cab driver that hitted me (yeah, as you are reading, the guy got mad at me because I asked him to let me go down from his cab, I know, it sounds horrible) I spend the whole weekend crying Sad and really traumatized, but I managed to get my mind kind of clear yesterdady and submit my application, I think it got through since I received Eric´s mail and I send it at 10:00 p.m. eastern time.

You never know what might happen to you, so lesson learned, try to prepare with time in advanced... I really hope that something good can come up in the middle of all the horrible things that I went through this last weekend

Congratulations to the winners of the scholarship...

Eric, don't we get to see the winning essays? (If the writers agree)

I would actually prefer that the winning essays not be published--for the winners' own good. This year, we tried to design our questions to be similar to what a b-school applicant could expect as an actual b-school essay topic. The reason why is that we thought this scholarship competition would be a great way for participants to get a head start on writing their applications.

That being said, it probably would not be a good idea to publish these essays prior to actually submitting your b-school apps.

However, we can leave it to our scholarship recipients to decide--any takers?

Thanks.

LOL before eric's post I was about to post my essay, but now I realize that is probably not a good idea. Thanks for the heads up eric.

I realize 99.99% of everyone here wouldn't even think about plagiarism, its the .01% I worry about.

That's a good point. I was asking so that I could get atleast some idea where my essays stand. I know giving feedback on all entries is next to impossible. So is there a way I could know atleast what position my essay was ranked at? Right now it is a total black box. If you can give that, I'll also get something back, if not the prize.
Am I asking too much? Smile

Rajesh,
refer to Richard Mountek book for application and essay.

honestly you cant anything significant from reading others essays. they have their specific stories...

however you might want to research on what tic b-schools, what they want in your essay. different programs look for different kinds of stories.

flawless English and art of story telling (constructing your ideas n expressing) are key to successful essays. Cool

ATB.

The only thing we can say is that it was a really competitive year, and we got a lot of really fantastic entries--yours was no exception. Smile

Yes, though my GMAT journey is already over, four hours consultation with Stacy was a big prize in itself.

I've read that this a major flaw that most applicants do--they write what they think the AdCom wants to hear not what they(the applicants) want to/should tell.
