Businesses and governments must do ,more, much more to meet the needs and goals of women in the workplace.
I strongly believe in the about expressed opinion that businesses and governments must to much more to meet the needs and goals of women in the workforce.
Women represent a major part of any society in the world. The more the goals and needs of women are met the more successful the society or country will be. Look at the developed countries like US, UK and Australia; women are playing an important role in the success of these countries. As time is passing by, governments and businesses of the developed countries are making reforms to help and facilitate women to meet their needs and reach their roles.
For example, almost every organization has rules and regulations for the women to go on maternity leave. The women employees are provided with paid leave to support her. When a mother joins after the baby and she is breast feeding, sometimes such employees are allowed to take extra time off for that purpose. Some organizations also provide allowances and day care facilities for child care. All the above mentioned methods are to facilitate women at work otherwise it will be very difficult for women to get back to work. Moreover, women might have to stay at home to take care of their children.
The success of any country lies in the fact that men and women both are given equal opportunities and women issues are considered more thoroughly because women also have the responsility of raising their families, which is a very important task. Sometimes, its really hard for women to balance between work and family and they have to make extra efforts to keep a balance. For such extra effort that the women are making to stay at work they should be rewarded with extra considerations by the governments and businesses.
Now, take a look at the situation in developing countries. In most developing countries women are not provided with equal opportunities. There are many reasons behind it. Firstly, there are overall not enough opportunities for both men and women. And if there are as in those are men dominated societies all available opportunities are provided to men. The result of this practice is very evident that the growth rate of these developing countries is very slow.
Finally, in the light of the above explanation, I would like to conclude that the success of any society relies of both the men and women. One of the success factors of all developed nations and business is the equal opportunities for both and more consideration for women issues.
