I am planing to go for GMAT and score well
as the score is valid for 5 years, I am thinking of going with my job for next 2-3 years( to gain some work experience) then use my GMAT score to apply for B-schools
Please tell me whether it is a good decision and what should be my GMAT score to target some of the top b-schools

Hi manish.109,
Thank you for your post! It's definitely a good idea to accumulate two to three years of work experience before applying to an MBA program. In regards to your GMAT score, you will need a 700+ to be competitive at the top programs. To really stand out from the many Indian nationals (likely with degrees from Indian institutions & potentially similar work experience), the higher GMAT score you can get, the better. I would also recommend taking on more community leadership if possible to build a more robust application.
Good luck preparing for the GMAT and in your new job!
