I know that there aren't any accurate answers, but what's the general penalty (in terms of lower overall scores) for leaving an unanswered question on the manhattan CATs?

Also, I think that the Manhattan CATs are little harder than the actual GMAT, but does anyone know what the difference (in terms of score differential) is? Please advise.

I'm not certain specifically about the Manhattan CATs, but in general with CATs you cannot skip questions. When you guess blindly, you of course have a 1/(number of choices) chance of getting the question right.

With the GMAT, missing a question at the beginning impacts your score much more than missing a question towards the end. The reason is that at first, the test is trying to figure out the general ballpark of your score. Towards the end, it is more fine tuning.

I would assume that practice tests would work the same, so it is impossible to say how much your score is lowered for each guess.

Best wishes,

from what i read in the post on the different practice tests a few people have said that the questions are tougher on MGMAT then on the real test but the scoring may not be an accurate representation of what you might get on your gmat someone from the company has said that there is possibly a deviation of 50points

i have given a few of their CAT's and got scores of 600 in the 1st 630 in the 2nd and 570 in the third
the third one in the verbal section did way worse than i expected probably due to the fact that it shot a lot of high difficulty question after the first 15 and i got 7 consecutive wrong which i think affected my score
the quant section i left too many questions to answer in the last few mins and just randomly selected answers and got 7 wrong in again so i think those were the reasons for my low scores
