I can understand how hard it can be when results don't go as expected. I request that you do not loose heart but keep trying. A few things you can look at to analyze are:

1) How many practice tests did you take before the official GMAT exam and how you fared?
2) Was it just anxiety that caused your low score?

I would analyze individual prep areas and topics within them, take some time off and start off the prep while some of the material is still fresh in mind.

I am sure you will do well as expected the next time. Again do not loose faith and good luck in you prep!!

Hi,
I reason you are still missing the basic concepts. The eight guides are a great resource alongside with the Mgmat CAT tests. Depending on your situation, those guides are not to be rushed through. You actually need to go from learning to knowing to mastering all the concepts in those guides.
Only a certain number of concepts are tested on the gmat. When you take your CAT,(I assume you have access to the mgmat CAT'S since you have the guides) generate your section results by topics, and drill down until you master the concepts.

Also find below the links below and dedicate time to go through all the topics covered. It is also paramount from where your scores are that you do not rush into another exam. In addition the beatthegmat practice questions are additional practice with video explanations which I think will do you a great deal of good.
Do not loose heart, quitters never win and winners never quit. It will also help you to visit the I just beat the gmat forums and read other students success stories, It will give you a drive when you are low, but be sure to sift through and see which relates to you. Don't read threads that you wont learn from.

I took couple test practices but my score never reached 500. I dont know whether my brain is not functioning properly.

I am not really sure about rushing though because I put so much time dedicated on the GMAT. 6 months working on it. No other people would stay just focusing on that. I dont work and just completed my bachelor degree.

I followed the suggested plan to tackle the GMAT. Even if the test administrator said that maybe I should consider other things other than the gmat. She felt so sorry for me...( I took the test in the same location and she happened to be there when I took the tests).

My IQ is 90 below normal. I dont know if that counts.

I felt blank when I took the test.

Don't despair! There is yet time to improve - perhaps you have been too hard on yourself? Having high expectations of yourself is good, but sometimes when you are too invested it might actually be counterproductive. DON'T hole up to study with no fun time at all, you'll only burn out. Take it seriously, but not so seriously that it hurts your confidence. I would suggest giving yourself a bit of a vacation from the test to think about a new study strategy and refocus.

Getting a good GMAT score does not indicate that you will be a good manager... so go ahead and try doing what ever it is you want to do.
Since you've just graduated, create jobs instead of looking for one
Start ur own company... look around and keep ur eyes open. Getting an 800 on the GMAT isn't everything!

You said that you have an IQ of 90? Was this number given to you by a competent professional? If so, then maybe the GMAT is not for you. Watch Forrest Gump, make tons of money and leave us all behind

Did you leave any unanswered questions? Because according to what I've read on MBA.com, leaving unanswered questions can reduce your score significantly. I've just made of mistake of leaving about 20-30 questions unanswered and got an unofficial of 340. I misread the details about unanswered questions! Arrgg!!!

I feel the same way. I just bombed the test and now I feel like a complete. i studied for three months strong day in and out. i do not know what to do and i probably wont get accepted into any business school with a 320. What did i do wrong to receive this score, i feel like a dummy
