Well the first question I would ask is: why now?

You may be shooting yourself in the foot a wee bit by applying with so little work experience, when the average is about five years...

Although if you know you want to go to Rotman, and it is advantageous for you to go this year, why not try?

hi jon,

I wanna work in the industry of my interest, but without prior knowledge its damn hard and considering i didnt do great in college (gpa), its near impossible.
Although first i considered going for masters in finance (like MFE) but then some people told me to go for mba in finance, as it will open a wide array of opportunities.

shooting in the foot ...is not an option for me. I'm damn trapped i need a get away pass. Its better now when i know where i wanna work, and above all i want redemption and make use of every opportunity i get.

i've heard some colleges do take some recent grads in for MBA programs.

and if i go for mfe, some demand prior knowledge of quants, calculus which i do intend to cover but i think here in india, u cant just attend some courses u gotta be in a degree program.

and should i give gmat another shot in 25-30 days?

I understand your point, but the likelihood that you will be successful at applying to a good MFE is higher than the likelihood of your success at an MBA. So actually, you are kinda setting yourself up for the harder path like this.

As for prior Math knowledge, in the US, you do not necessarily have to have it in a degree program, and actually the GMAT should be the first indicator of your mathematical abilities (although of course, anything else you have is great too!)

Hope this helps!
