I am working in R& D dept of an organization. I face a lot of challenges in my day to day tasks and sometimes feel like I'm lacking somewhere to manage my team and other activities. How could I overcome this situation? Please help me to come out of this dilemma..

Go to b-school!

Seriously, if you are thinking about studying management in grad school, you could try it out by taking some extension courses in leadership or management. Check your local universities for survey classes in time management, personnel management or leadership.

I apologize but here I beg to differ. You don't always have to go to business school to learn how to deal with people and manage teams. Business schools teach you how to manage a business, business functions and connect you to leaders. MBA schools rarely teach how to 'deal' with people or manage day-to-day tasks. Yes - you work in teams but you have to 'figure' it out on your own. Very very few schools like Harvard and Tuck teach you. Unless you have 200,000$ to burn - you'd think twice before you make such an investment.

I have over 6 yrs of corporate management experience with fortune 1-2-3 clients. I'll be happy to share my experience and help you out with your situation at work. If you incorporate my tips / advice and still find yourself stuck "during your career progression" and you see a gaps then it makes sense to spend your time, energy and $$$ to go to business school. It is an expensive investment that I'd recommend that you take the bigger picture into account.

Please email me directly so we can set up a time to talk this week. You problem has an easy solution and a fix. Why take the long route when the simpler one is available?

Regards,
-Sophia

Managing a team is a very tuff task. Firstly, you need to figure out where exactly you are lagging behind. Knowing this would be helpful to suggest better.

You could definitely go for some sort of specialization course in management which would help you understand the things better. You can also pursue some degree course in this field.

Why don’t you look for some online course which would definitely help you overcome the obstacles coming your way and help you manage the team and work in a better way?
