What is the value of y?
(1) 3|x^2 – 4| = y – 2
(2) |3 – y| = 11 |

1. Itself can't answer because we don't know x.
2. y=14 or -8 , so insufficient.
but from 1, we get y = 3|x^2 - 4 | + 2
which means 3 * (something positive) + 2, is positive.
So y = 14.
is it C? |

OA is C.
Isis, using (1), you can see that y is positive (please see mendiratta's
post). So, using 1 and 2, we can converge on y = 14. |
