Merit Trac Pune Center

by kauldheeraj » Sun Nov 08, 2009 7:52 pm
I was supposed to appear on 11th November at the Pune Center (Merit Trac). When i called them up to enquire the location of the center, they told me that they are no longer conducting the examination and asked me to contact the call center. I called up the call center at 9.15 in the morning, and it seems they were still not open.
I still can see my appointment with the same address, but cannot make out where to appear for the examination.
This is gross mis-management and callousness by such a reputed organization like mba.com.

Dheeraj

The Pearson authorized test center in Pune is

GATS Pune - www.gatsindia.net

Even the GMAC MBA site shows the same.

I had called GATS few days ago and they confirmed the same. I am not aware of the MeritTrac status as an authorized test center.

Hope you find some clarity on this, incase of any updates at your end do post it here.

I just called up GMAT call center, and they will re-schedule my appointment to the GATS center without any extra charges.
I was supposed to get an e-mail from the Pearson Vue, but never got one.
Hence, they will be responding in 2 days to my request. I am getting it re-scheduled to a comfortable Saturday at the GATS center.

Did you read story of other GMAT student from Pune?

My advice to Punekars, if possible schedule a date for Mumbai center.

The management is good. Although the test room is sound proof, but once you sit taking the test, you realize that you can hear all the vehicles passing by. Thankfully, it's not a busy road, but once in a while it does divert your attention.

A similar experience :

First the test was delayed by 2 hrs. They told me the some system upgrade is taking more time than expected...
When we reached there aditional 30-40 min...
While writing AWA...for 15-20 seconds the screen froze...meaning we couldnot type anything and clock was ticking...ans the test administrators were completely blank...
there were 3 more test takers with me experiencing the same...
after Quant they started repairing their system...took some 30+ min... a complete mess...not sure though that these mishaps were solely responsible for my flop-show

:(

I had a similar problem yesterday. Took the test at 1:45pm. Midway through the Verbal section, the screen froze. The in-charge said that things will come back up. But when the screen started working again, I saw the clock had continued to run on and I was down my 5 mins. I had already been going slow before this whole thing happened. I was now down by about 8-10 mins.
I had to put on my running shoes to complete the test. End result was a terrible experience on Verbal. And then a terrible score.

I am wondering whether I should ask the mba.com guys for re-schedule. Coz i went ahead and completed the test. Wonder what they will have to say abt this.

Any advice is welcome guys!!!
