Bschool selection??

by mollyrg » Mon May 19, 2008 7:21 pm
Hi,

I took the GMAT in mar 08 & scored 620. I live in connecticut, US. Hence, I would prefer an MBA school within CT, NY region. I plan to do MBA in Information management/ Finance. Ive shortlisted few colleges. Can you pls rank these colleges with respect to better career prospects.
1. Uconn
2. Baruch
3. Fordham
4. Hofstra

Thanks...

Hi Molly,

Unfortunately I don't know too much about the programs listed below. According to BW recent rankings, both Fordham and UConn are considered good regional programs.

Outside of rankings, you might want to do more research on the schools and see if any of the programs make more sense for your post-MBA interest. Does one program have a stronger Info Mgmt/Finance program than the other? Also, try to figure out what companies recruit at these schools. Are any of them on your radar? For example, I am guessing that Fordham has good contacts on Wall Street (given the schools NYC location). Do the recruiting firms match your post-MBA career interests?

At the same time, try to network with current students/alumni to learn more details of the program.

Good luck!
