hello
can anyone pls tel me how would having a manufacturing background help me in an MBA application
im a production engineer from India
since most students applying from india are a part of the IT pool, does having a background of manufacturing help?
wil it help me contribute more to an MBA class?
would the MBA adcom think so too?

Hello,

Yes, yes, and yes... Yes, the manufacturing background will differentiate you from Indian IT applicants. Yes, it will enable you to contribute, as there is not a high percentage of applicants with manufacturing experience, yet manufacturing is extremely important. And yes, adcoms will recognize this - but it's your job to show your particular experience and potential contributions in your essays. Because it is a differentiating factor, it should be a key element of your strategy for your applications, especially if your goals are related.
