why is stmt 1 not sufficient? what types of numbers will this not work for?

stmt 2 says -y<x, but isn't that possible only if y is (-)?
so then shouldn't this be sufficient?

I think the answer to Q31 is E. From 2 alone y could be -ve but also it could be 0 .. so your argument won't stand.
