I don't understand at all why is answer C and not B. I prefer B, thus please explain why is B incorrect??

"grounds for" is idiomatic

I disagree with you. eg. Hewlett-Packard Co. officials had grounds to fire former Chief Executive Officer Mark Hurd

I think there is some mistake in the question. Many of 1000Sc are incorrect. Its not a reliable source.

Option 'C' is definitely wrong.
