Kellogg MBA-JD

Post Fri Mar 17, 2017 8:16 am
I'm looking to apply to Kellogg/ Pritzker for a joint MBA/JD. I really like that they are willing to use the GMAT as the only test! Does anyone know if applying to both would hurt one's chances of being accepted to Kellogg? If I didn't get into Pritzker, would my application to Kellogg still be looked at on its own, or would it take a hit since it was attached to a denied application?

Hi Yatesey8, I think the best place to get an answer here would be from Kellogg itself! Everything I know about Kellogg and their philosophy would tell me that Kellogg will be looking at you holistically for the MBA and that each program would review you on your own. So I would say that Kellogg will use the same criteria they use for everyone else for the MBA program. The MBA/JD program is a rather small program with just about 25 students in it- so you would be a part of a group where people know each other. But in my opinion I don't see how it would hurt you and you should apply for the program/s that most interest you as that is part of your story. But I also encourage you to reach out directly to Kellogg on a question like this one. Their admissions staff is very friendly and I don't see that hurting you at all to reach out to better understand their processes.
