There are two problems with this sentence:
1. The success....have led has to be "The success has led", so eliminate answer choices A, C and D.
2. which will effect is not correct since "effect" is a noun used as verb here. The correct verb is "affect" = have a certain impact on prices. This eliminates choice E.
This is why the OA is what it is....

don't you think "success scientists" is bit awkward. Looks like success is a adjective and modifying scientists like "red" car. IMO it should be The success that scientist ..or scientist had/has a success...
