Kaplan and PR Tests: Assessment

by 3gmater » Wed Jun 18, 2008 1:21 pm
Hi.

I have started my prep for 3rd attempt.
I never tried Kaplan and PR CATS for my previous attempts. I am trying these two now, since I dont have any material left.

I took PR Test 1 and Scored 670 (Q 47, V 36).
I also took Kaplan's Free online test and scored 660 (Q44, V 40)

Few Thoughts on these tests:
*I feel the algorightm for PR is not good. I had just 5 Q's incorrect and I still scored 47! Quants was very simple (most Q's were 600+ Level with very few questions in the 700 + level). Verbal was fairly good and had several 'Gmatish' questions.
* The Kaplan online interface is excellent (compared with the CD interface) - I just Love it! Quants was Good and Verbal was faily balanced too, excpet that all the RC's were long, unlike those in the real GMAT.

Now the questions to experts and to people who have taken a lot of Kaplan and PR tests is:
*How good are these tests, in assessing the score range of a future test taker? Do I continue taking these tests to gauge my performance?

*What other tests exist in the market, that can give me a good assessment of my ability?

(P.S: I have exhaused my MGMAT tests, during my previous attempts. Scores ranged from 670 to 720)

Thank You all!!

mba.com

download gmatprep and take those tests. They will be the most representative of your actual score.
I beat the GMAT! 760 (Q49/V44)
