OA is A.
Here is ron's response
first:
something is mistranscribed here; 2000 is not ten times 2000.
second:
what's your question?
with which answer choice did you have problems?
--
brief synopsis:
(e) is just ridiculous. if you looked at (e) for more than two seconds without rejecting it, you should go read a large number of correct OG answers (don't solve the problems - just read the answers) and familiarize yourself with the writing style. they will never be remotely as wordy as choice (c).
also:
"that of" doesn't make sense, as there's no noun in the first part of the parallelism to serve as the antecedent of "that".
"the population's amount" is either redundant or nonsensical.
(d)
wordy.
unnecessary repetition of "black rhinos".
(c)
same problem with "amount" as in (e).
(b)
same problem with "that of" as in (e).

we have 3 type of "comma+modifier"
"comma+preposition" modify entire previous clause. see question"diet...with meat as "" in OG10
"comma+doing" modify entire previous clause and has logic place
"comma+comparative phrase" modify noun immediately prior to comma
check grammar first
ten time as...as is correct. ten time more than is wrong. c,d,e are out
that of is wrong because there is no "noun of". B is out
we do not need to check meaning and should not do so because it is hard to realize meaning error
