angle ABC = 90 degrees (angle subtending a diameter)
AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2
AC = 2, BC = 1 -> AB^2 + 1 = 4
AB^2 = 3
AB = root(3)
Area of triangle = 1/2 x base x (perpendicular) height
= 1/2 x BC x AB
= 1/2 x 1 x root(3)
= root(3)/2
