Hii friends....!!!

I am pursuing my engineering final year in electrical engg. from an well known institution in INDIA n am going to complete my graduation in may 2011....My all time goal is to be an MBA pass-out from the world's top business school i.e HARVAD BUSINESS SCHOOL (HBS)...

I have 82% aggregate in my engineering and done .....n no work experience...I am planning to apply for HBS for d coming year....

I am badminton player at my college...I am a good dancer...I participated in many events in college level fests n was associated as a organiser tooo....

My all india GATE 2010 rank is 250.....

What is the required GMAT score we need to have to apply for HBS??

what are the extra curricular do HBS look in an individual to select him/her ??

What are the things one should be good at before applying for HBS??

Is it necessary that we need to be an extra ordinary student by participating in national n international events..?

I heard from my friends that there are less chances of selecting an average student...n even said that one should have done his graduation atleast from IITs...n should be a son/daughter from a rich family background with a good political support....are these assertions true???

Is d education at HBS is too costly??

Please help me friends...

I wanna hear more opinions from u as well as experts too...

Thank you..

Having spoken with a friend who is at HBS, typically the type of Indian that gets in is

IIT, 750+ GMAT, McKinsey Business Analyst, Then some other thing after McKinsey e.g. Founded NGO or Entrepreneur.

So if you want something to aim for, that's it.

Otherwise, your best bet to stand out from other Indian applicants, is to basically not pursue a career in IT. Become a famous Bollywood producer or something artsy.

If you read between the lines, I'm basically saying if you don't have that background or cannot obtain it, then yes you obviously have to think about other BSchools to get your MBA
