The lawyer CHARGED that she suspected the police...and then USED the information.
This wording could imply that the LAWYER used the information.
The intended meaning is that the information was used by THE POLICE.
Eliminate A, B and C.
In E, information as they obtained makes no sense.
Eliminate E.
The best answer is D.

eliminate A, B and C
"such as" used for giving examples so eliminate E...
"of having ...." is parallel with "of using..."
