Hey there Ritz,
I think things look pretty good for you. Actually you have three major things going for you despite the less-than-700 GMAT:
1. Female
2. Consulting career
3. US Experience.

These three things alone are enough to make them read through your candidacy seriously.... and it's not like your GMAT is terrible either... :) It could be a wee bit higher, but a 690 is totally reasonable.

But I think if you can wow them with intelligence passion curiosity and ambition in your essays, you could have a shot at ISB. (hopefully though you are applying to more than one school).

Best,
JF

Well, the thing is for US schools, the boat has pretty much sailed, and you won't be able to apply till next year. Should you not get into NUS or ISB, then I figure you'd be a good shot at schools ranked say about 10-30 in the US rankings. Although if you were to apply next year and believed that you might be able to get a higher GMAT score, I'd definitely urge you to take that shot, cause at your level, even an extra 20 points can make a real difference.

Hope this helps!

Hi Jon,
Its been a while since I last asked for your advice. I was waitlisted for ISB when I applied in 2013.I could not apply in 2014 to US business schools also due to personal reasons. I also did take my GMAT again but my score was maxing out at 690 despite getting 720-730 in mocks. My four months of effort for GMAT study seem to have gone down the drain as I was hoping that I could apply to Kellogg with a 730+ score. So ,kindly tell me which US schools I should apply to this year with match/stretch/safe split. Also, do let me know do I have a fair shot at Ross Michigan this time? I really do want to get good brand name in terms of B-school. So, kindly do help...I am at my wits end.

PS: Sorry for the sad rant

Well, I think the first thing to do is accept your GMAT score.

there are plenty of good schools out there that are not Top 10 schools and that can STILL get you where you want to go. You can apply to Ross, it may be a bit of a longshot, but there's a chance. But more importantly, what do you propose as your full list? I'd say you should have a nice spread in the schools ranked 10-30 and since you won't be applying to Tier 1 schools, really, you should be choosing schools where your industry is well represented (to increase your chances of landing that job you need).

I hope this helps!
Best,
Jon
