got 8 out of 9 in IELTS test Post Thu Jan 19, 2012 7:57 pm
Hi Folks,

I just received my IELTS score. I am glad to know that I scored 8 out of 9 in it.

Scorecard -

Listening --- 8
Reading --- 8
speaking --- 8
Writing --- 8

OVERALL -- 8 out of 9

I hope this would suffice. Smile

HI Kunal,

First of all we take the exam and not give the exam - if we are not the examiner(first writing mistake Smile ). I don't want to do nit-picking here but these small mistakes count towards your final band.

I booked the exam through IDP. I recieved a book containing 5 sample papers from them. The first thing I did was to observe the pattern given in the writing section. The most important point I noticed is the clarity of the idea. Secondly, there should be no grammar or spelling mistakes. These small points matter a lot at the end.

For practice - I googled 'IELTS Writing Topics' and found many examples. Just try to write the answers in your own words and then compare it with the answer given on the web. This will help you find the difference.

Total time of prep - 2 weeks for the whole exam. All the best.
