GMAT Score:720
Dear all,

I gave my test on 8 Oct'10 in Jaipur, India scored 720..and applied to top univ...and after 4 months today 24 Feb 2011, I received a letter from gmac that my test score is being cancelled 'as a result of irregularities in test taking reported at the test center', however i can retake the test for free....

I have interview scheduled on coming sunday with oxford, only call amongst top univ. :(...I am totally shattered right now and trying to figure what it is all about....gmatcustomer service center in India has no info in their system....spoke with gmat coordinator in malaysia...they need time to investigate....I am waiting for evening so that i can call gmac folks in US....

Has anyone got any clue about this???... I hope its just a bad dream...nd get over ASAP...if any one can help me here...I would really appreciate that...

OMG...

Thats terrible. Never heard of any such thing happening. Hopefully, everything would be fine. Even I hope its just a nightmare. Do contact people from GMAC in the US, as they will be able to help you in this. Keep us posted with whatever happens. Good Luck!!!

Bad Luck I guess, What are you planning to tell the college to which you have applied for? I agree with the above reply. try contacting the US GMAC offices. They will definitely have an answer. Hope this is passes just like a dream and everything ends well. Keep us posted and thanks for bringing out this point, we can be careful now.

call GMAT's 800 number and ask for a Program Co-ordinator. if the cust care rep tries to resist, be persistent explaining your situation. i had an urgent issue once and got results within 24 hrs

good luck

I am not going to tell anything to colleges as of now.....but i am mentally preparing myself to give GMAT again...could use it as success story.......trying to see the silverline... :(....but going thru the gmat hell again is scary....I will decide anything post my conversation with GMAC US guys today evening....

I conducted a search on the my gmat test center...i found out some shocking news...the authorites were involved into some scams...the test center is not registered with GMAT any more...but guess too late for me as my dreams are screwed already...I am sorry if i am sounding too dipressed...but hell yeah I am shell shocked...cant believe it till now...

I will certainly keep everyone posted...but i guess as a candidate the last thing u will spend time upon is conducting a detetctive research on your test center.....if gmac is authorizing a test center, anyone will blindly follow it...least imagening that u will have to bear the consequences...although in my defence i am planning to claim the video recording of my test...lets see what happens....

Thanks for the best wishes....truely need them... :(

@Contejous...Let me call you...

thanks

@monusangeeta, firstly be minded!
secondly, be informed!
thirdly, be patient!

I am in the process of challenging the question from my GMAT exam which I gave on February 17. GMAC/PVue have clearly explained to me by phone and in e-mail communication that any inquisition into an error or incidence regarding my score estimation (calculation, processing, and their other BLAS) need to be conducted within 90 calendar days. So if you have received your score cancellation after, sorry --> three months and one day say and you received this in e-mail - PLEASE IGNORE IT!!! you should have been informed about score cancellation issue long before ...
You must receive the post mail dated back within 90 calendar days of the sender's post mail sending date.

If such case happened to you after the period assigned by GMAC policies covering 90 day reporting period for any incidence at the testing center by test admin, by test taker on one's behalf or any other party(ies) concerned - DO AS ASHISH SUGGESTS - CALL 800 AND ASK COORDINATOR TO REPLY!

Damned test people !!!!

last note: why people always aspire to shift their responsibilities to some one else? If GMAC makes an error and ignores its own rules, why test takers need to pay off their price for the quality assurance outbreaks in GMAC/PVue systems?!

@night rider...are these 90 Business working days (M-F/M-Sat) or just 90 days...coz starting from 8 Oct'10 to 24 Feb'11 the day count is 139 days....please let me know...

totally agree with your last note, as a candidate how do i know that GMAC authorized test center is having a irregularity...total illogical move.... disappointing and frustrating!

tricky GMAC/PVue people only put 90 days after exam appointment day. I assume 90 calendar days if nothing specifically has been noted - the number of business days in Assortinada country can be different from that in Blmgt.MN

don't worry - you should outwin these people or at least have them pay decent injure compensation - don't forget they are in the US ;)

Hey fellows I have started receiving several pm-s from you - please, I need to study. I have my toefl in the second week of March and GMAT exam retake in the last week of the same month. I can't be the rights' defender for all those impacted by recent score cancellation events of GMAC/PVue - sorry :(

I certainly advise you to keep two things in mind:

1. GMAC has never assumed and admitted any incidence of score calculation irregularity as the test/examination sponsor - their customer care policies/regulations have never been disclosed to us, test-takers with regard to such matters /described above/

2. Any information in the defense of your stand-point or in support of your score validity could be obtained through individual discussion and further inquisition into your case/incidence with the responsible people at GMAC/Pvue office, try calling +19526813680 - I have done so may be 6 times before obtaining question challenge document from them.

For one thing I know, the score can not be canceled after the period beyond 90 days, that's why they provide us with this warning in their question challenge document (I avail the one in written).

Talk to the test people and demand your rights!

ending: remember score top - they couldn't challenge the test takers' scores until the civil court in score top's jurisdiction has banned using this site for GMAT purpose. This has untied the hands of GMAC/PVue and they have canceled many scores in the retrospective period. There should be serious concerns for doing score cancellation after the long period of time.

@Monu Sangeeta,

My suggestion is u have a great opportunity to sue GMAC. Hold on to it.

Be extremely careful while negotiating terms with them.

First talk to them. Understand the legalities. If u can record the telephonic call, that will be great. Be extremely neutral in your approach. like the HR folks speaks..

After this approach a qualified lawyer" specialised in "educational segment" ( there are so many in delhi). Consult them. U will be directed to proper direction.

Dont just settle for the reversal of the score..Now that it's payback time buddy!!

and that u are not alone it seems..so form a TEAM and go ahead.

All the best.. take ur interviews..do them well.. I dont think its ncecessary for u to share these details to adcom now.

Just cross check with Eric before anything u do.

I liked ur "optimistic" approach..Great !!

Hi Sangeeta,

Did you talk to the GMAC guys in US? You can at this time.
