Give up or keep trying?

by speedy27 » Fri Oct 03, 2008 6:27 am
Hi guys, I took the GMAT yesterday and scored a horrible 520... it was my second time and I don't know if I should study more and take it again right before the second round of admissions. Without a good score my application is flawed and I cannot go anywhere worth its while...

I am planning on starting to study in a week or so and to take it easy.. this test really gets me nervous... Do you know of anyone who was able to better his/her score by 150 points?

I am a bit discouraged :(

I think you should honestly evaluate your performance in time. If you truly believe this score does not reflect your true potential, then you sould retake it. I had a friend who went from 550 to 750 in months. However, I also know someone who did it three times and got 600, 620, and 610. the key is are you going to do something differentlt to acheive your objective?
You can also apply for R2 which gives you time to prepare.
