I think "may occur" is redundant, since "predicted" means there's always an element something may or may not occur.drgmatIL wrote:they predicted after the economy grow...DROBULESH wrote:The reports from the Department of Commerce indicated that the economy had grown at an annual rate much higher than most economists had predicted may occur.

I think it's either B or E (going with B, because had is parallel with had)

predicted may occur is redundant. Hence rule out A and D
C is not fitting at all..
Actually confused between B and E.
My pick is E. OA please ..
Thanks,
Iwill

Well, the real confusion is between "B" and " E".
'E' looks good when we see it's following the verb-tense order i.e. one portion is past participle and other portion is past. Both portions are past
happenings.
But in choice 'B' it says" The reports from the Department of Commerce indicated "
So, it indicates both portions of the sentence to be past participle,
which sounds more correct to me.
Any experts idea ??
Also please divulge the source of the q.
