I love the 60 Day GMAT Study Guide Strategy. It outlines all of the topics and identifies a plan which allows us (the test takers) to focus on actually studying rather than spending time 'planning our study strategy'.

I do management consulting for a living but i've identified a 5 month period where I will be working locally (not traveling) and be able to focus on studying for the GMAT. I'm aiming for a score as high as possible and would like to use the 60-day GMAT study guide as a template.

The guide focuses primarily on using the GMAT Prep Now video course & the GMAC Official guide as the sources. It also references the 'Manhattan GMAT Complete Strategy Guide' as an alternative to the GMAT Prep Now Video course.

What are your thoughts on using BOTH the GMAT Prep Now Video Course & Manhattan GMAT Complete Strategy Guide while supplementing it the GMAC Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review , GMAC Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review and 'The GMAC Official Guide for GMAT Review'?

This will probably stretch the timeline past 60 days correct? I'm willing to go up to 4 months to get the highest score possible. 2-4 hours a night 5 nights a week.

Is this over kill? thoughts?

Also: Are there any other books/resources included in the 60-day study guide which are NOT listed below?

In summary here are the books/tools/videos I will use:

GMAT Prep Now - https://www.gmatprepnow.com/prices

Manhattan GMAT Complete Strategy Guide - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/193570 ... 1935707701

The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review, 2nd Edition - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/193570 ... 1935707701

The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/047044 ... 0470449764

The Official Guide for GMAT Review - https://www.amazon.com/The-Official-Guid ... 06YIDW4PE6

Hi jcook 2004,

Two resources might be overkill.

If I were you, I'd start with one resource and, later on, get the other resource if you feel you need it (I'm pretty confident that you won't need it).

Both resources will teach you the core basics, advanced properties, and GMAT-specific strategies for each topic. Once you cover that, your score will depend largely on how much practice you do. For practice, the 3 Official Guides will keep you very busy. After that, if you feel that you need extra practice, you can find tons of questions on this site.

Cheers,
Brent

Thanks Brent!

Quick question - I was reading other posts on this forum and noticed that some users are using a Kaplan guide. Does the 60 day guide use or reference Kaplan in any way? In the example on your 60 day gmat study guide photo it only referenced Gmat Prep Now & Manhattan: https://static.blog.beatthegmat.com/mba/ ... shot-2.png

Hi jcook,

Glade to help.
The new (current) Study Guide no longer references the Kaplan book. So, all you need is either the GMAT Prep Now videos or the MGMAT books.

Cheers,
Brent
