What is the value of s?

(1) |s|=5

(2) s=−|s|

App it's C but not sure why?

TIA

S1 tells you s = 5 or -5, so there are two values; NOT SUFFICIENT

S2 tells you s ≤ 0, so there are an infinite number of values; NOT SUFFICIENT

Together, only s = -5 satisfies both statements, so the answer is C.
