Confusing CAT Scores

by shaden » Thu Nov 06, 2008 4:17 pm
I am getting some confusing scores from CAT tests:

GMAT Prep 1: 700 (45Q, 40V)

A week later with less studying than normal due to a wedding-
GMAT Prep 2: 620 (44Q, 33V)

A few days later after studying mostly SC (OG, and notes, not GMAT Prep questions I missed since I wanted to know my fundamental ability not memorization):

GMAT Prep 2 (Again): 660 (47V,34V)
- I noticed I missed more RC than usual, and I was reciving a lot of easy RC at the end.

So, would you consider my initial 700 a fluke? Or did the few days of wedding stuff just mess me up? Is either GMAT Prep 1 or 2 more difficult?

I was hoping for a 720+, and I am becoming worried that wont happen.

The GMAT prep tests scores could deviate by as much as 50-60 points between two prep tests and also with the actual test scores. And as you observe your physical and emotional conditions, concentation levels all affect your performance. To be on the safer side, prepare well to get to your target score. I am not saying its diff for you to get a 720; based on the information on this post- efforts are required.
Wish you good luck
