I'm really sorry to hear about all these Columbia rejections!
I'm a 710 GMAT, 3.3 gpa. I had very very solid essays and stellar recommendations from the president and vp of my company, but from what you guys are saying it seems as if i have no chance. I applied in mid February.
Keeping the good vibes alive though. Good luck to everyone else.

Sounds like it might be another month or so. It looks like they take around 2 months to respond. Fingers are crossed though!
Is there any reason you think you were dinged? Sounds like you were a very strong candidate

Well in my case I think I applied the 1/5 and go rejected mid February. Took about 5 weeks for them to get back to me.
I had 750 GMAT, 3.51 GPA in Dual degree in Engineer at top university for engineering, speak a few different languages, and what I thought were great essays as well (doesnt everyone?). I will admit one of my letters of rec was probably weak, the person didn't even look at it until the day it was due and I imagine he just threw something out there(Engineers are like that).
I think business schools can be real subjective as to whether or not you get that interview invite. Just depends if they have hit your type of quota ( In my case an engineer), whether the person reading likes your essays, and whether they think you are a good fit.
After I got dinged at Columbia, I got invites at other schools. You really just never know what will happen.
Hang in there are dont worry about what you see from other peoples stats online.

Also denied without interview at Columbia.
Profile:
3.6 Computer Science from Private University
740 97% GMAT [49Q 87%, 42V 95%]
6 Years as Software Developer / Technical Manager
Trying to make a career change into Finance -- I'm thinking that's a crowded place to be at the moment.
Good luck to all of the other applicants!

I'm in OK shape. I've already gotten into BU, Maryland and UC Irvine with scholarships!dmateer25 wrote:Sorry to hear about the ding.Goldy14 wrote:Dinged! No interview.

Waiting to hear from USC, UCLA, NYU and Georgetown. Columbia would have been nice, but it was a longshot so I'm fine with not getting in.
