own a car=x,do not own a car=y;
x+y=80; also x and y consist of both males and females;

1)now from first many answers are possible; for example y might only consist of 14 males,and 0 females, so number of people who owns car can be 80-14=66; or y consist of 14 males and 6 females in this case no. of people who owns car would be 80-20=60; as we can see different answers are possible hence 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question..!!!

2) 42%0f x is females; now since both males and females would always be integers, therefore 42% of x must be an integer; 42/100 *x; 21/50*x; therefore x must be 50; hence B alone is sufficient to answer the question..!!!
