breaks during the test ....

by abhaypratapsingh » Mon Aug 04, 2008 6:26 am
I am appearing on 11 August and am unsure whether to take 2 breaks of 5 min each( after AWA and after Quant) or to take one break of 10 Min after Quant.
Is it possible to , wash your face , have some snacks and back to your seat in 5 min ?

thanks,

Hi Abhay,

You will get 2 breaks of 10 mins each. One after the AWA and one after Quant. Now its up to you how you utilize them. I believe 10 mins is enough to freshen up physically of course mentally it depends how your test is going. :D

just checked the instruction in OG it says 2 breaks of 5 min each and not 10 mins.

I tried taking break at home during the test and found that 5 min is too low for going to rest room say 10 feet from computer, eating a snack may be granola bar , drink 1/2 glas water + formality of test centre eg: finger print , locker opening , closing.

10 mins breaks

1 after both AWA
1 after Quant

I suggest you go to the washroom, have a little bite (of a granola bar) and drink a sip of water (you don't want to drink too much because you cannot go to the bathroom for another 75 mins). Talk to the receptionist for a bit (to keep you at ease), then go back in there as soon as possible. There is no reason to use all 10 minutes. The quicker you get in there, the quicker it is over. No need to drag it out. I probably used 4-5 minutes of each of my breaks.

Refer to the website for accurate into on breaks, not the OG.

I used each break to go to the bathroom, relax, convince myself I got those last few questions right, etc. I probably used 5 min of each one. I did not mess around with snacks.

There are many horror stories of how people tried to max out their breaks and came in to see the clock already running. So be careful.
