Hi

I'm currently applying for an MBA to texas mays. I was wondering what are my chances?

Below is my profile
I am a Canadian
Four yrs. of work experience at admission
Applying for 2012 MBA fall admission
2.8 GPA last 2 yrs. in bachelor of Engineering @ Canadian university
GMAT 600/ 5.5 in AWA
Project manager in Oil and Gas industry for engineering consulting firm
Good extracurricular with Engineers without Borders

Other schools I am appling for
Schulich
Rotman
Alberta
Calgary

Looking for one U.S. school but not sure if texas mays is the right choice. I am looking to go into business consulting in energy sector after MBA.

Thanks guys.

Well, you have a fighting chance, but your GMAT is about 50 points under the average... so it's a bit of an uphill battle.

You are however in a VERY strong industry, which I would play to its fullest. And if you can impress with work achievements, and other extras (like volunteerwork), your chances could go to being pretty competitive.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm exactly trying to do that. Focus on my work and volunteer experience.

Could you also suggest some other universities in US to aim for with my profile?
