I haven't had a chance to physically look through the Manhattan GMAT Material (not at my local bookstores, nothing to preview on the web, none of my friends have their stuff) but lots of people on this website recommend it. Could any of you please elaborate on what's included in the booklets?

From my understanding, and please correct me if I am wrong, is that the Manhattan GMAT study guides include chapters which contain (1) explanations of different topics/concepts (2) cites and use their own proprietary Manhattan GMAT example questions to elaborate on the chapter's topics/concepts (3) refers/assigns the students selected Official Guide questions to illustrate how to apply the various topics/concepts learned to actual GMAT official questions. Did I get this right?

Some things I am confused on:

(1) Do you know approximately, how many questions from the OG these Manhattan GMAT booklets use/have you work on? That is, with each booklet from the Manhattan GMAT series, roughly how many questions from the OG should one expect to go through in conjunction with each Manhattan GMAT booklet?

Would you say:
1-10 OG questions per Manhattan GMAT study guide
1-20 OG questions per Manhattan GMAT study guide
1-30 OG questions per Manhattan GMAT study guide
etc, etc...

(2) With each Manhattan GMAT booklet, do they have you refer to:
The Official Guide Review (yellow booklet)
The Official Guide Verbal Review (purple booklet)
The Official Guide Quant Review (green booklet)

(3) If Manhattan GMAT study guides refer to all 3 OG review books, how many questions should I expect to come from each one? So, for example, if I buy the MGMAT number properties booklet, should i expect to use in conjunction 10 questions from the yellow booklet (OG Review) and another 20 questions from the green booklet (OG Quant Review)?

Appreciate any feedback.

All the best!

Hello,

I purchased a set of 7 Manhattan prep books and the OG 11, OG quant review and OG verbal review books on ebay for $100.

I find the Manhattan series quite helpful. All the homework in the booklets are referring to the OGS' questions. Manhattan does a fine job in breaking down the questions into relevent sets of questions in the OGS'. For example, if you study the Manhattan Number Properties book, then at the end of the book you'll get a homework assignment of questions only related to number properties. Question numbers are listed along with the page numbers.

It's a good way to start, because just going through the OGS' will likely inundate you.

I'm also taking the gmaxonline review course, which I find extremely helpful.

PM me if you need further advice.

thanks
D

Hi,

I am thinking of taking the gmaxonline course for verbal. Please let me know it is worth the money. Also there are 2 courses. one with CD & another without CD. What is the difference.

Currently my scaled scores in verbal is 30-32. My target is 40. My weakness is in SC & CR.
So how good is the course. Can i be able to achieve my target.

I have 2 mnths to test.
Please advise.

Sid.
