Hi Sir,

I hope you could advise on an important matter.

What age would you ideally recommend an MBA aspirant as the desirable age for an MBA application?
Also how much does age play a role during our post MBA career placement? Do IB recruiters pay much attention to this.. as what i saw in some blogs..or do they look more into our talents and skills ( apart from our academic scores)?

Supposedly an aspirant were to take up the MBA application at the age of 30, would this have a negative impact during his post MBA career placement assuming that he reaches 32 years of age by the time his course gets over?

My question is how much does the recruiters look into age while employing suitable candidates?

In such cases what could be remedial strategies for the same?

Hope you could help me out.

Thanks

Hey there,
Well age DOES play a factor. I'd say that in the US (Europe and Asia are different) anything up to 30 is "normal" from 30-34 is "tough" and any older is better to find a different program (like an eMBA or PT MBA or Euro MBA).

If you are looking into moving into IB from a different industry or go into MBB, this problem will be doubled when you leave school, and you might want to think about alternative goals (I mean 33 year old people are not usually willing to work 15 hour days with weekends like 24 year olds).

I hope this helps,
Jon
