this query i received from one of the member of this forum.
i received it via private message. I asked him to put the same on public. but for some time and net access limitation he couldnt put it on open forum.

Though he gave me permission to publish his query here.
Thank you.

aim wsc,
i have ok grades in MA economics-60-65%
i hope its over gpa of 3

but, problem is that after eco, its virtually impossible to get a job wher i can have wrk ex as reputed as required for a bschool ;

at most i can have is that a job in a bank which is hardly manegerial

i know its not poosible with it to get into top schools Crying or Very sad

but do u see me having any chances at top25-30?
{consider me applying with 1.5 yrs of wrk ex}

First of all I am really very sorry to put your query on hold.

i am sorry for such late reply. though we already have had 6-7 talks via private message communication, i delberately asked you to put this specific query on public forum; so that, just in case, if i felt limited in providing you the answer, Ms Stacy or and other experienced persons put their view on it.
Thank you.

Other members please note this.

MA in Eco sounds good.
i would like to know your relative position in the final years class.
Ad Coms cant gauge by figures such as these(60-65 %.)

tell me how did you rank at graduation...say: tenth in the class of hundred students..that d be better.

Work ex. in a reputed co. is important however is not as important as the quality of work ex.

(so dont worry about that issue.)
You really dont have to work in bank. given that post wont be of managerial. & i am sure even if you get into some good foreign or private bank (like HDFC/ ICICI ABN Amb) you wont get ^that kind of job^ for atleast 2-3 years.
Being in Mumbai you can join any Stats survey company.

but you have not told your career objective. in which field you want to make your career?

You need more work ex to think about b-school.
but again i may say it's quality before quantity.
Quality always wins over quantity..
most of B-schools arguably dont have any cutoffs as such.

**ensure you worked in team.
**you direct some people (that s what i call it managerial post)

finally i cant say about top bschools.
bus YES. for 25-50. you can make it.

i can see you can score good at GMAT.
prepare well.
with good score in GMAT you can get into any mediocre b-school.
i hope that helps.
ThankYou.

PS: dear cooldude,
Never doubt on anybody's credentials unless you have personally experienced it.
You wont realise how important it is for MBA app consultants like Ms.Stacy to learn / understand as much as possible about Indian environment.
Indians, they are like everywhere. see knowing English population
Anyways, just go to any forum: check out BW forum/ & you will realise how many Indians are out there...
you come from very competitive pool of applicants...so dont think that your profile will be unique.

but now if you have time ( & i think you have) try to make it unique.
