I took the GMAT today and it wasnt as bad as i expected. Thanks to this forum, I had seen a great sample essay exactly the same as my firt essay. The second essay went well too..we'll see what happens when i get my score.
i took the firt break before Quant...went to the bathroom..then drank a lot of gatorage. Halfway though Quant...I had to go so baaadd...I had to rush through the rest of Quant so I wouldnt pee in my pants! I know it sounds ridiculous. I finished Quant with 10 mins to spare.
Verbal was ok
BReakdown. MAth 42 66 percentile
Verbal 38 84th Percentile.
Math has aways been my strong point and I scored between 45 and 49 consistently on my practice tests. I have always truggled with verbal and I was trying to hit 40 to break 700. I'm ok.with my verbal score but I know I can do much better on Quant..
GMAT.I WILL BE BACK! ANy tips on how to score 51 this time on Quant? I think I have issues with inequalitie and coordinates. Any useful resources to become a guru in 4 weeks? I plan on KILLOING the GMat at the end of OCtober.
Wish me luck this time...of course NO gatorade. I;ll stay thirsty. |

| unbelievable. i had the same experience with 25 minutes left to go in the verbal section and this completely threw my concentration off. i drank about half a bottle of gatorade in btw quant and verbal and this proved to be deadly. by the time i got to five minutes left during verbal, I didn't care about the test anymore and was more concerned about my health. |

i was paranoid about this exact scenario.
I barely drank half a glass(small) of water and nibbled on a granola bar once.
What really helped was splashing the ice cold water on my face during the breaks...

I had given this some thought before my test.
I decided to :
a. Drink sufficient water a couple of hours before the test as mine was in the afternoon. This is to prevent dehydration.
b. To avoid any caffeine during the test.
c. Keep water to a few sips during the breaks in the test.
d. I told myself; I will just go in my pants if I 'really' have to; whats the worst that could happen? I will not let anything distract me from the exam. (This was meant to prop myself up mentally.) |

I had one Red Bull in every break... stated each break with going to the bathroom and drinking a Red Bull after that. Scored 690 and had no problems during the test... perhaps I'm an exeception... |
