I thought I knew the answer to this, apparently not. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Of 60 animals on a farm, 2/3 are pigs or cows. How many are cows?
(1) The farm has twice as many cows as pigs (c = 2p)
(2) The farm hs greater than 12 pigs (p > 12)
I thought the answer was A, but it is C, both together can be used to answer the question.

Hi rachel,RachelAL wrote:Thanks for your interest. I think the tricky part lies in 2/3 are pigs OR cows, not pigs AND cows.
I am not sure how to double check a GMATPrep question.
there seems to be something wrong with the first statement ... according to the information given 2/3 of 60 are cows or pigs which turns out to be 40 ...
now according to the first statement c=2p... which gives 2p + p = 40 .... that is p = 40/3 ... which is wrong since p needs to have a integer value..
but if it is correct my pick for the answer wuld be E....

well .. go back to the test if the status says unfinished ... then select the test and click on OK ... then u will find a option to review the q's ...RachelAL wrote:Thanks. Do you know of any way to check the GMATPrep question?
but if the status is finished then i dont think there is a way to go thru the q's ... other than giving the test ( but then again it is not necessary to run into the same q again )...
