Wrutewell vs Express write

by maihuna » Tue Dec 29, 2009 11:00 am
14. Both Writewell and Express provide round-the-clock telephone assistance to any customer who uses their word-processing software. Since customers only call the hot lines when they find the software difficult to use, and the Writewell hot line receives four times as many calls as the Express hot line, Writewell's word-processing software must be more difficult to use than Express's.
Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument above?
(A) Calls to the Express hot line are almost twice as long, on average, as are calls to the Writewell hot line.
(B) Express has three times the number word-processing software customers that Writewell has.
(C) Express receives twice as many letters of complaint about its word-processing software as Writewell receives about its word-processing software.
(D) The number of calls received by each of the two hot lines has been gradually increasing.
(E) The Writewell hot-line number is more widely publicized that the Express hot-line number.

IMO B because it shows that Express has more customers than the other company but the other company has more complaint calls-as stated in the passage- so the ratio of call complaints to the number of users for the other company is higher that that for Express.

IMO - B

Express has more customers then writewell and express recieves 1/4th of as many calls as writewell does.

Just looked at your signature. What happened why are you down and out?

Mohan,

I guess E cannot be the answer as here you are assuming that the PUBLICIZED aspect is actually having its intended affect on users.
Infact, I have been given to understand by various sources that whenever u need to assume anything for a stated answer
REJECT IT

Is it right testluv, please confirm !

IMO B

rest all options are weakening the argument

B IS strngthng the argument by claiming that express has greatr no. of customer and even than recieves less call and therfofre its software is not dificult to use

this is the only option best amng the rest of availbale option

You need to find out whether the software is difficult to use. For choice B, Let's take some numbers here:

Express customers - 75, Writewell - 25
Number of calls - Express: 3, Writewell: 12

As you can see from the numbers above, express has more customers who use the software but very few people complain about it. Whereas Writewell has only 25 customers and more than 4 times customers have complaints.
