Singapore based MBA Admissions Consultants

I hope to help applicants eager to get into elite schools but don't know how to make their dreams come true as I did, so here is my experience with a Singapore based MBA admission services provider - MBA Link.

Background : female Chinese living in Singapore, U.S. college bachelor's degree, GMAT 720, 3-year working experience in finance
Applied : four schools
In : Duke, Georgetown (scholarships and Forté fellowship)

I knew nothing about MBA admissions when I decided to pursue an MBA degree two years ago. When I heard about MBA Link, I hesitated at first because some friends shared with me their bad experience with other admissions consulting companies. However, I decided to attend MBA Link's events and schedule a free consultation to get the first-hand experience. After talking to the consultants and staff, I somehow knew they were the people who would help me succeed in my applications and even beyond business school. Plus, their 100% admissions success for clients apply for 4 or more schools gave me huge confidence (I didn't feel I was that bad to break their records). My goal was to let the experts help with my application so that I can save time and energy for significant things like GMAT scores, volunteer activities, alumni and school networking.

My application consultant was a former MBA admissions director with years of experience. He really knew the tricks. During my application preparation process, he was patient, guiding and keen to understand my background and what makes me unique. MBA Link's unique FAME coaching process I went through brought me amazing self-discovery - my strengths, schools fit me, short-term and long-term goals. Meanwhile, my essay coach, resume coach and interview coach together helped me build a fabulous application. I discussed every aspect of my application with my consultants from recommendation letters, networking strategies with key shareholders to work improvements. They were even happy to polish my emails if I'd like.

I got not only a successful application, but also skills that will benefit me a lot in business school and throughout my career. To be honest, the consulting fees they charged is quite fair regarding the quality of the services. My MBA application was definitely something I didn't want to take chances.

Received an invite to share my personal feedback for my experience with "MBA link" for my R1 application in 2017. I will start with my background and share a bit of my insight to the process:

Background: Male Chinese holding Singapore passport, Local Singapore University STEM degree, GMAT 750, top Healthcare/FMCG Corporate 5+ years of experience (manager level).
Applied: Kellogg (MBA link 1 school package), Wharton, Sloan, Fuqua (DIY, but borrowing learnings from the MBA link package)
In: Kellogg, Wharton, Sloan (With $), Fuqua

My initial engagement with MBA link starts from one of the MBA fair where I met MBA link founder Lawrence. Lawrence seems to be the type of person who knew the rules for the application game and I started to place MBA link as one of the option if I decide to use the consulting service for my application. As I progress with my application, I realized that to navigate through such ambiguous/overwhelm situation, I need good advice from people who knew the tricks. Unfortunately, I didn't have any friends who has the expertise and can't find any friend applying in the same year to discuss the strategy. Running like a headless chicken for a couple of weeks, I decided to start comparing the options of consulting service. Based in Singapore, I had a coffee chat with Lawrence and was really impressed by the methodology they are providing. The price is reasonable at the same time for the promised services so I decided to try my luck with MBA link with a 1 school package.

My coordinator was a retired admission director from an S16 school who has been extremely patient to help me gather my thoughts. My favorite coach is my FAME coach (a Wharton graduate) who helped me to dig into my past experiences and build a convincing theme for to connect my past, my motivation to my career plan. With her help, I build my application based on this theme through out Resume, Essay to Interview. As my application progressed, I also got assigned another very responsible GSB MBA graduates to help reviewing my essays and came back to the same FAME coach to guide me on my interview.

The coached assigned to me have all been extremely responsible and knew the tricks in the application. I feel much more confident after having my application package reviewed by those very experience people in the MBA application industry. Overall, I would recommend MBA Link based on the service I have received and the outcome of my application.

Hi everyone,

Sharing a bit of my experience with an MBA Admissions Consultant I worked with in Singapore (Lawrence Linker).

Background: Male Singaporean, Mechanical Engineering degree from National University of Singapore. Transportation experience with an MNC (~7 years), reaching manager level
Applied and accepted into: INSEAD

I've worked with Lawrence in the construction of my essays when I was preparing my application. The introspection required from the essays turned out to be a lot trickier than I initially expected, primarily owing to the fact that I've not had many experiences reflecting in the direction that these essays expect! Hence, it worked out really well that Lawrence took me through an introspective process before even looking into the essays proper. Through this process, patterns that demonstrated my strengths, weaknesses, etc started to unveil themselves. We also had conversations of business schools of interest, and Lawrence shared his experience in expectations. When I then worked with Lawrence in constructing my essays, he guided me through the approach to take, and coached me via constructive feedback on the content. I would also add that he responded very quickly to my questions when we corresponded via mail (the few instances that we were unable to meet).
The insights garnered and advice received definitely helped me in my application, and when ready I was a lot more deliberate and structured in my submission. I'm thankful to have worked with Lawrence through this process, and I'm still in touch with him post-MBA. I would recommend his consulting services for those preparing their applications.

Hi All,

I'd also like to share a bit about my experience working with MBALink.

Background : Indonesian, living in Jakarta, Local University bachelor's degree, GMAT 690, 4.5 years experience working in finance
Admitted : LBS & Oxford Said (Both with scholarships)

I first reached out to them over a year ago. I'd spoken to a couple of friends, and had it narrowed down to two different admissions consulting firms.
Our initial discussion went well. What made me interested was their method and approach. They will assign a team of consultants, with specific expertise to work with us throughout the whole MBA application process.
I was also comparing them with another firm, based in my home country. This firm offered a more "local" touch, as their consultants are all based in my home country, thus the sessions could be conducted face to face.
But in the end, I decided to go with MBA Link, as I believe their approach & framework (FAME Method) is more suited with how I wanted to work on my MBA applications.

And I am glad to say that I was right!

They assigned a team of 5 coaches to work with me throughout the process. Each of them has different tasks.

Starting from the first session, I could feel that the consultants are very professional. It was easy to agree on a schedule, and the turnaround is fast for any query you have along the way.
But more importantly, they are genuinely interested to work with you and to understand you as a client.

Of course their unique FAME method matters, but for me, to work with someone who genuinely wants you to succeed matters most.
And this is what I felt from working with all of them. Especially with both Linda (my FAME coach) and Melissa (Interview coach)

Linda is a wonderful person! She brings a lot of experience from working as a career coach at top business schools. She helped me a lot in understanding where I am in my career and how I can actually get to where I want.
She will give you insights and stories that could very well inspire and boost your confidence. Best part is she is actually a part of those great stories as the coach.
Another thing to appreciate is the fresh perspective she brings. She helped layed down the foundation of my whole application by helping me see myself from different angles.

I realized that my work with Linda has helped me to work on my essays more smoothly with Lawrence (my Essay Coach). Lawrence was very thorough in reviewing the essay, and coaching me on how to present my story in a structured manner.

Same credits goes to Melissa. After working with different coaches and submitting my application, Melissa still added valuable insights on how to present my story in the interviews. She took the mock session very seriously, and made sure that I went to my interview sessions calm and prepared.
Her direct & honest feedback after the mock session demonstrate her coaching capability backed with her extensive knowledge in various topics.

In Summary, I feel certain that working with MBA Link is one of the most crucial decision I took throughout my MBA Application journey.

I hope that by sharing my experience here, you can see the benefits of working with a credible admissions consultant.
And if you decide to work with one, MBA Link is a firm that should seriously be considered.

Cheers!

MBA Link

Hi everyone,

I would like to share my experience with MBA Link during my MBA application process in 2015-16.

Background: Indonesian, Female, lived my whole life in Indonesia before MBA, GMAT 710, ~4 yrs of working experience.
Admitted: Yale & IESE; decided to go with Yale.

I met MBA Link for the first time in an MBA fair ( I don't recall the specific event). The impression that I got from MBA Link, which represented by Lawrence at the time, was positive. Instead of selling the program, Lawrence was genuinely curious about my profile and wanting to know more about myself. Such authenticity made me decided to move forward with MBA Link.

During the process, MBA Link had helped me through the process by emphasizing my real story and character, rather than molded me into a "cookie-cutter" type. Its FAME method not only enabled me to understand myself better but also helped me to develop the narrative of my story for the application. The coaches also showed a keen interest in my success, as they were willing to drill down on my interest and my passion, rather than suggesting me to do things that "liked by the schools' admission committee." The genuine efforts made by MBA Link team convinced me that they genuinely believe in my qualities, and helped me showcased those qualities to the schools' admission committee.

All of the preparations with MBA Link helped me be the best version of myself during the interview, as I realized the significant increase of my confidence compared to several months ago before I decided to work with MBA Link. Such confidence also resulted in the acceptance letter from two schools.

Even after graduating from MBA, I believe that MBA Link played a crucial role in helping me navigate my future in one of the most critical moments in my life. For people who want to succeed and stay true to themselves, I would suggest MBA Link to be your partner in the preparation.
