A hint - what does the modifier "beginning" refer to? which part of the sentence does it concern?
Second hint - are there any phrases which seem redundant?

IMO - D: 'a period beginning 2.5 million years ago' correctly modifies 'five thousand years' and 'During' makes the sentence more clear that 'Homo habilis roamed the earth, lived in semi-permanent camps, gathered food and shared their economy throughout that period of five thousand years'
