College is an educational institution where students are offered degree and diploma courses for further studies. The University is not much different, but it has a wider scope than a college. It is a hub of high-level education which confers research programs along with degree and diploma courses to its learners.

Affiliation: Colleges are either affiliated with a university or it is autonomous bodies. Universities do not require any affiliation from another university.

Research Program is not offered by college while universities offer various research programme.

I have also done MTech from a University named Lovely Professional University(LPU) India and BTech from a college.

As per my experience, I highly recommend University for higher education.

LPU offers 150+ programmes in several disciplines such as fine arts, humanities, agriculture, management, engineering. pharmacy, law, architecture, etc. in both regular and ODL mode. LPU is spread across 600 acres of land with natural beauty and 1200+ acres of agricultural land for Agri students. You can pursue a degree from a diploma to a doctoral level.

Scholarships/Financial Help: LPU provides very good scholarships to bright students with good academic records, sports, or extracurricular activities achievement. LPU also helps students in the Education loan facility.

Research Achievement:

1. Stanford University ranks 13 LPU faculty members amongst the top 2% of scientists in the world

2. Researchers endorse 'Wild Himalayan Fig' aka Bedu as a natural pain reliever

I hope this helps

A college is an educational institution that extends degrees for a specific subject or area of learning. A University on the other hand is a group of colleges. Getting graduated from a University implies that you have sought a specific educational degree from one of their colleges. It is best to choose the subject or field of expertise you would to specialise in, before enrolling either for a college or a University.

In general, colleges are smaller education institutions when compared to universities. They offer undergraduate/Bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, or certificates. The number of courses offered is limited, and study programmes take between 2-4 years to complete.

Attending college education does not prevent you from applying for a graduate degree at a university later on if you want to advance your knowledge or change your career. Employers will not look down on a college degree, as long as it proves you have the skills they are looking for. However, if you apply for a position that requires more advanced abilities, you will need to study a postgraduate degree.

Universities are larger education institutions compared to colleges and offer both undergraduate and graduate/postgraduate degree programmes. They have a more diversified curriculum and offer a variety of courses, and usually include research facilities and sports centres.

The number of students enrolling in universities is much higher than the one in colleges. International students looking for higher education abroad usually choose universities, rather than colleges, which tend to be a more popular choice for local students.

Usually, universities are made up of schools, colleges or academic departments. In this case, colleges are the same as departments within a university. So, departments are a division of the academic staff on a particular discipline. For example, Harvard University is made up of other colleges (also referred to as schools).

The university is the one providing the degrees and allowing students to access all its facilities, but courses are held at one (or multiple) of the colleges or schools.
Prepare yourself for tomorrow's career challenges!
