what kind of program is best for me?

Hi,
I recently started a new position as a Radiologist in a large private practice group of about 100 radiologist MDs. My career goal would be to become the president of this group (may as well aim high).

To distinguish myself from the other 99 people that might be interested in that position once it does become available in the next 5-10 years I thought that getting involved in the business aspect of the practice early on would help.

I have no formal business education however so I was thinking of getting an MBA part time.
I currently live in FL so I was looking at the UF online or part time on campus programs.
I also noticed online and part time programs from a number of other schools including UNC and CMU and exec programs at places like Penn and MIT.

In my particular case, would it necessarily be detrimental to go a "less prestigious" program such as UF online versus getting an exec MBA or online MBA from a highly ranked institution? Since l just need the basic education and the extra letters to add to the end of the MD and not so much the on campus recruiting, networking, etc.

My current salary is quite high therefore theres no way I can financially justify a full time MBA at this point.

Hey!
Well I think you may have already answered your question. IF you don't need the salary boost nor the networking, but solely the knowledge, than a local part time degree will suffice. There are good teachers everywhere.

Best,
Jon
