I have gut feeling that here "do" is implied. Don't you agree?

Comet 1 will pass at about same distance as will comet 2 (do)
bracket is to indicate the implied...

Thanks pahwa..

Danielle, whats your take in this one? I am also confused b/w D & E. The only diff is the position of "will" and to me E seems more clear and structured.

Tks

I will go with D and donot think "do" is necessary here. The D is clear and makes the right construction.

Pahwa is right. 'do' is implied. In fact, that is why you rarely see 'will do' written out.

D is the best choice given the problem with 'do', but allow me to point out that this is a crappy sentence. It's awkward and would not be spoken or written like this in real life. In the GMAT reality though, D is the answer. Thank God we don't live there, eh? Real reality is way better!
