Stuck on this simple problem

please help me to solve this problem. Its from GMAT Prep test.I am sure its a very simple problem, but somehow I am not able to solve this.

I didn't find it simple man, but I would go with 6. M =8, N I couldnt figure, I guessed it should be closer to 0 but less. Between 5 and 6, I pick 5, but have no clue what is N.

Hi,

I think the answer should be m+n=5

It's a simple addition grid which gives equations as follows:
4+x=1 => x=-3
4+y=-5 => y=-9
e+x=7 => e=10
e+y=n => n =1
e+z=10 => z=0
and 4+z=m => m=4

=> m+n=4+1=5

You can cross check the logic on other addition combinations i.e. check if LHS=RHS

I think Answer is 5.

Explanation:
x+4=1 therefore x=-3
x+e=7 therefore e=10
z+e=10 therefore z=0
z+4=m therefore m=4
y+4=-5 therefore y=-9
y+e=n therefore n= 1
and m+n=4+1=5

What is the OA?

Guys, can you please tell how did you know that 4+x=1, the way I was moving is 1 + -5 + m = 4. But you did a cross section addition.

My question is how did you know that you had to do a cross section addition and not the way I mentioned

In these type of questions, we look at the operator that is "+" in this case. Now, add the vertical value and the horizontal value as shown in the image. So, 4 + x = 1, 4 + y = -5, 4 + z = m and so on.

The correct answer is 5.

Yes the correct answer is 5.

But i dont understand what kind of concept we use here. I was trying to solve with Matrix to nowhere.
