The OA is C
1) Of the amount donated, 40 percent came from corporate donations.
No information about the amount of donation. Insufficient.
2) Of the amount donated, $1.5 million came from noncorporate donations.
No information about the amount of donation from corporates. Insufficient.
(1) and (2) together
From (1), we know that 40 percent came from corporate donations, thus, 60% 40 percent came from noncorporate donations.
=> 60% of total donation = $1.5M
Total amount of donation = 1.5M/60% = $2.5M
Sufficient.
The correct answer: C
Hope this helps!

Question Stem Analysis:
We need to determine the amount of money donated to a certain charity.
Statement One Alone:
Even though we know the percent of the total amount that came from corporate donations, we don’t know the actual amount that came from corporate donations. Therefore, we can’t determine the total amount of money donated. Statement one alone is not sufficient.
Statement Two Alone:
Even though we know the amount of money that came from noncorporate donations, we don’t know what percentage of the total amount this is. Therefore, we can’t determine the total amount of money donated. Statement two alone is not sufficient.
Statements One and Two Together:
Since 40% of the donations came from corporate donations, 60% came from noncorporate donations. Since this equates to $1.5 million in donations, the total amount of donations is therefore 1.5/0.6 = $2.5 million. Both statements together are sufficient.
