This might be an unusual question, but I have been very fortunate and scored both 770/800 in my GMAT and 339/340 in GRE.

However I am only able to submit my GRE or my GMAT for Harvard and Stanford. What do I choose? I recognise the GRE score is slightly higher, however the GMAT is much more widely accepted. The details of the score are as follows (percentiles in brackets).

GMAT: 770 (99th)
Verbal: 42 (96th)
Quantitative: 50 (87th)
AWA: 5.5 (81st)
Integrated Reasoning: 8 (92nd)

GRE: 339/340
Verbal: 169/170 (99th)
Quantitative: 170/170 (97th)
AWA: 5.5/6 (98th)

Any advice would be fantastic!

Hi lw454,

First off, both of your scores are outstanding scores, so you would likely be just fine sending either of them. However, since Business School Admissions Officers are more familiar with the GMAT, you might want to send your GMAT score. You're ultimately asking Admissions questions, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

Good problem to have. I agree with Rich here, both in leaning towards reporting the GMAT score and in encouraging you to get confirmation from admin folks. The other factor to consider is that schools report the average GMAT score of their incoming classes to places like U.S. News & World Report, but not their GRE scores. So if you're pulling up that reported GMAT average, you're helping their rankings. (Not that Stanford and HBS are in desperate need of help in this category, but they do take pride in having a higher GMAT average than other schools.) Either way, you get a robust check next to the standardized test box.
