Quality of Pen at the GMAT exam center

by AbhiJ » Thu Dec 06, 2012 3:23 am
I wanted to know the GMAC's policy of quality of pen at the GMAT exam center. This is not a complaint but rather a suggestion.

It has been observed that students are given used pen which sometimes write well and sometimes do not. It would be great if the test taker could be given atleast 1 new pen or given an option to bring his/her own erasable pen. The old pen becomes a problem in tough quant problems where one has to write lot of symbols etc.

Actually I was practising using pen offered by prep company which was new and it worked pretty well for practice.

It's not that simple. The point is any used pen will not work as well as new one. Anyone who has recently appeared for GMAT will understand the issue.

Thanks for alerting us to this. If you should receive a faulty pen, you can raise your hand and request a new one from the TA. We also recommend you test the pen as soon as you receive it. As a reminder, you should always keep the pen covered when you are not using it, to prevent it from drying out.
