If you are in the LA / OC area, I highly encourage you to attend DMAC which is held at UCLA. It is a great resource for learning about the different MBA programs and how to become a more competitive candidate. I went last year and picked up so many new tips and met great people that are now my friends (which is nice because most of my friends aren't on the MBA track). It's helpful whether you're applying now or in a few years!
