In the sentence, the author compared the likelihood of the stress patterns in girls leading to depression that the stress patterns in boys leading to depression. The correct answer is supposed to be parallel to the sentence.

Option A - Correct
The use of auxiliary very 'are' doesn't allow the statement seem ambiguous (not making use of the verb would lead to repetition). Hence, this answer choice is also the most parallel to the sentence given.

Option B - Incorrect
This compares the stress pattern not the fact that it could cause depression mostly in girls than boys.

Option C - Incorrect
This has the same explanation as option B

Option D - Incorrect
The verb 'do' used in the sentence could be used to substitute the auxiliary verb "are". It would give it a different meaning entirely.

Option E - Incorrect
This is ambiguous as it doesn't compare the likelihood of getting depression from stress patterns in both boys and girls
